At Suffolk Phoenix Brass we currently have the following vacancies:
Musical Director
We are currently seeking to appoint a new Musical Director to lead the band through its next stage of musical development. We are a friendly, commited and community focused brass band with a strong enjoyment of music making, performance and musical improvement. We are looking for a conductor who can combine sound musical leadership with warmth, encouragement, clear communication and a collaborative approach.
We are seeking someone who can:
- Deliver enjoyable, well structured and productive rehearsals
- Develop musical standards across the band
- Motivate and support players of varied experience and backgrounds
- Build a positive, inclusive rehearsal atmosphere
- Select engaging and varied concert repertoire
- Help strengthen the bands musical identity and community presence
- Work constructively with players and committee
The role includes:
- Weekly rehearsals on Tuesday evenings
- Concert preparation and performances
- Musical programming and repertoire planning
- Supporting player development and musical confidence
- Working collaboratively with the committee and membership
